The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has expressed delight at the appointment of Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams as Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, a position he officially takes up today.
During his swearing-in ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Buem was tasked by President John Mahama to restore the country’s sports sector to its former glory, emphasizing the need for transparency, professionalism, and modernity in management.
In a statement, SWAG has welcomed Adams’ appointment, citing his experience in governance and managerial roles.
According to the umbrella body for sports journalists in the country, they are excited about Adams’ commitment to promoting other sports disciplines and calls on him to focus on school sports, revive Inter-Schools competitions, and the Security Services Sports Association (SESSA Games).
