Ghana Immigration Service officer Emmanuel Commey has been crowned the 2019 MTN SWAG Table Tennis Athlete of the year.
The 26 year old is ranked 1 according to the national ranking of the Ghana Table Tennis Association and 672 in the world.
In the year under review, Commey won bronze at the 2019 Chairman’s Cup.
He came first in the 2019 Africa Games trials and also represented Ghana in the Africa Games in Rabat where he was in team 5 single 32.
These attributes put him ahead of his colleagues hence SWAG bestowing on him the enviable Table Tennis Athlete of the year.
The main event for the 2019 SWAG Awards is billed for October 10, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
The event will be graced by the Chief Justice, Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah.
In all SWAG will award 38 sports men and woman whose various roles have pushed the name of Ghana higher both on and off the sporting arena.
